Les Misérables contains mature themes and subject matter, including poverty, grief, death, suicide, social injustice, religious themes, violence, and the consequences of personal choices. Performers and families should be prepared to engage with these themes thoughtfully throughout the rehearsal and performance process.

The audition age range for this production is 8+. While performers ages 8–11 are welcome and encouraged to audition, only a limited number of performers in this age range are expected to be cast, based on the needs of the production and individual readiness. Casting decisions will consider not only vocal and performance ability, but also maturity, ability to handle the material, and the demands of the rehearsal and performance process.
